In Elm Street Cafè, a piano stage is the focal point for both bar and dining patrons. The bar area sweeps around to the outside wall from the entrance, allowing a lively stand up area with a view to the active street. Set within a unifying screen of rusticated columns at the restaurant’s perimeter, two raised levels of banquet and table seating curve around the stage. Hence, dining becomes theatre. Mosaic tile, black plastic laminate, wood, and stainless steel trim and rails are primary materials creating a background for a people space.
