Steve joined Pappageorge/Haymes in 1987, and his leadership has been key to the success of many of the firm’s major projects. Representing more than 25 years of experience in residential, mixed-use and commercial design, his projects have included The Ellington in Detroit, Michigan, and the Chicago projects of Kinzie Station, 375 Erie St., 421 W. Huron, Columbia Place, 744 N. Clark, and Embassy Club.

Embassy Club townhome development has been deemed, by its developer, as “perhaps the most important and influential residential development in Chicago during the 1980s, demonstrating that new construction of luxury housing on a large scale could literally expand the borders of a neighborhood, featuring a widely assorted product mix characterized by highly stylized architecture inspired by 18th and 19th Century London, now one of the most prestigious addresses on the entire North Side.”
Steve’s recent projects include Museum Park Place, The Emerald, and The Ellington.

He earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado and a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1983. His early career began in Denver, Colorado where he worked at Engle-Keiding Design Associates as a designer/draftsman while attending undergraduate school. Shortly after earning his undergraduate degree, he relocated to Chicago where he resumed his education and worked as a project designer on a variety of commercial assignments at MPS, Inc. He later expanded his repertoire at A.M. Kinney Associates in Evanston, Illinois, where he served as staff architect for corporate research facilities.

His professional activities include membership in the American Institute of Architects. He is a licensed architect in Illinois and an accredited professional by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
