Located on a lakefront peninsula in Saugatuck, Michigan, the house is sited atop a small rise to establish its prominence and retain existing vegetation. A square in plan, each function expressively utilizes a corner. Lakeside, a projected angular bay of glass defines the living area and dramatically focuses the view from the two-story space shared by its dining area. Playfully juxtaposed to the house configuration, a randomly terracing series of decks leads one to the boat dock. Consistent with the simplistic but dynamic plan geometry, the exterior is clad in white stained cedar with white trim.
