The Pavilions of Troy, MI
Richardson Development Group Inspired by the vibrancy and pioneering urban spirit of Boston’s Faneuil Hall and Reston Virginia’s Town Center, The Pavilions of Troy is designed to establish a long-needed civic nucleus for the sprawling Detroit suburb of Troy, Michigan. Contrasting with its low-density, automobile-oriented context, the 40-acre development, located at the site of an abandoned corporate headquarters, will include 500,000 square feet of retail space in a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere. An active, tree-lined plaza will be lined with shops and restaurants and also feature an ice rink and other amenities. Surrounding the plaza in three and four-story arrangements, 200 condominiums and 300,000 square feet of offices will further enrich the area with activity. Retail and residential parking will occur primarily in structures visually screened from the pedestrian areas. A movie theater, health club and upscale grocer are also planned. The northernmost portion of the property will incorporate several townhouses as well as senior housing, scaled appropriately to relate to an adjacent single-family neighborhood. |
