354 North Union Project Progress

Construction of the 32-story, 373-unit apartment tower is in full swing with the building’s progress prominently visible from the Kennedy Expressway. The development replaces a formerly vacant lot in Fulton River district at the northeast corner of Chicago’s popular West Loop. The residential apartment tower will join three other PH-designed buildings in the area and share borders with K2 Apartments - a PH-designed residential building completed in 2013.

The narrow rectangular site is bound by K2 Apartments to the north and train lines to the south. An overpass bridge off of North Halsted Street will serve as the main entry point to the building with two ground-level access routes to the parking garage. A new North Union Avenue cul-de-sac will be incorporated into the program with an auxiliary garage exit at the west end of the site under North Halsted Street and onto North Green Street.
