TIMOTHY KENT

Tim joined Pappageorge Haymes Partners in 1994 and quickly earned a key role in many of the firm’s prominent early work in Chicago including; The Whitney, Riverwalk Lofts, Kinzie Park, Plaza Azteca, and Lakeview Commons. He later provided leadership in the planning and design of the award-winning Glen Town Center in Glenview, Illinois, and was senior project architect for two of the buildings there.
Tim has participated in design charrettes for large-scale planning and residential projects in Chicago and elsewhere, including: Troy, Michigan; Salt Lake City; Everett, Washington; Irving, Texas and Honolulu. Recent work includes; Buckhead Atlanta; an upscale, mixed-use neighborhood that includes 370 residences and 470,000 sq. ft. of retail space in Atlanta, Georgia, SALT; a 265-unit, apartment complex in Tempe, Arizona, Pullman Park; a 200-acre mixed-use development in Chicago, Iowa River Landing; a multi-phase, 180-acre, mixed-use development in Coralville, Iowa, EV; a 200-unit mixed-use apartment building in downtown San Diego, River Oaks District; a large-scale, mixed-use development that includes designer shops, restaurants, and upscale apartments in Houston, and Fifth + Broadway; a 34-story, 387-unit apartment tower that is part of the $400 million redevelopment project at the former site of the Nashville convention center.
His professional career began in 1985 at MSKTD & Associates in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he worked on a variety of institutional and commercial projects. After moving to Chicago in 1990, Tim joined Thomas Hickey & Associates as a staff architect on multi-family and single-family residential projects in the city and the North Shore. He later expanded his experience at Midland Studio in Oak Park, Illinois, working with Herman Miller on its Holland, Michigan corporate headquarters.
Professional activities include appearances as guest critic at Illinois Institute of Technology, Andrews University, Ball State University, Kansas State University, and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
