Designed to establish a civic nucleus for the sprawling Detroit suburb, the forty-acre development will include 500,000 square feet of retail space in a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere. A tree-lined plaza will be lined with shops and restaurants and also feature an ice rink and other amenities. Surrounding the plaza, 350 condominiums and 300,000 square feet of offices will further enrich the area with activity. A movie theater, health club and upscale grocer are also planned. To the north, several townhouses are planned as well as senior housing, scaled appropriately to relate to an adjacent single-family neighborhood.
