105 W. ADAMS: PH’S ADAPTIVE RE-USE PROJECT OF A CHICAGO LOOP LANDMARK
We’re excited to share that the Chicago Community Development Commission has approved the TIF for the transformation of the 41-story tower at 105 W. Adams St! PH will serve as the lead designer on this significant office-to-apartment conversion, which will bring 400 new units—including studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms—to the Chicago Loop. A portion of these homes will be designated as affordable.
Completed in 1927 and designed by famed architect Daniel Burnham's sons, the historic Clark Adams Building will be reimagined as a residential tower while retaining the existing hotel and introducing new commercial spaces on the first two floors.
This marks PH’s third current office-to-residential conversion project in the Loop, building on our strong track record of adaptive re-use projects in downtown Chicago—an effort that began in the early 2000s and continues to shape the city’s architectural and housing future.
